Québec City
If you ever get homesick in Canada and you want to cure it, then you should go to Québec City! Enjoy the pretty nice and old buildings, the weather (-20° and wind), the warm pubs and of course the french language. The city offers you a lot, especially in the wintertime, although it seems impossible to live there at these temperatures. People tend to get closer when it is so cold outside!
Québec City is one of the oldest cities in Canada and it proofs this with a lot of historical and beautiful buildings, castles and streets. No rectangular blocks and streets, this is not a city planned on a drawing-board! Small streets with small shops with souvenirs, with food and with art are to discover. I had luck and could visit the city as they held their winter carnival and so there were a lot more touristy offers and the nightlife was maybe better.
Driving from Hamilton to Québec takes you about 12 hours, but its totally worth it and if you are only a passenger you can enjoy the trip by looking outside your window and listening to all the mp3-tracks you normally don’t put on your playlist.
I took so many snap-shot pictures and snap-shot videos – bad in quality but they capture the mood. Here’s a small compilation:

Very nice video from Quebec, Christoph. You captured the mood of Montreal and the cold temperatures! That sleigh/toboggan ride looked really scary. But you all came out all-right
Cool video! The tobogganing looks like so much fun!! What a nice way to share the fun on trip
